Makos Summer 2026 Prep and Updates

Makos Swim Team Communication: Website and SwimTopia Mobile App:

The Makos Website has valuable information about events, volunteer information, meet and practice schedules.  Please be sure that your contact information is up-to-date as this is how we will send last minute practice updates in the event of weather. We also encourage your family to download the SwimTopia Mobile App to get alerts, track your swimmer's events and results, as well as sign up for volunteer opportunities. Also included is the private Makos Swim Team Facebook group for social media interaction.

Season Kick-off Event:

Thank you to those that could attend the Makos Season Kick-off Event today. If you were not able to attend, you can find the link for the presentation HERE.


Team Suit:

The team suit will be the same from last season, but if you need to size up or have a new swimmer, the team suits can be found HERE. Purchasing through this link is optional; the suits are available on other websites as well. 


Makos Board of Directors Positions:

We want to give everyone an early heads-up that we anticipate five open board positions at the conclusion of this season. 

Open positions will include:

  • President
  • Vice-President
  • Secretary
  • Treasurer
  • Director of Computer Operations

Due to the large turnover, we strongly encourage anyone who may be interested to reach out to the board now to begin learning more about the roles and potentially shadow current members. Expressing interest at this stage is not a commitment to apply—it’s simply an opportunity to get informed and involved.

We will send out a formal call for nominations on June 28th with a deadline for nominations on July 3rd.  If you are interested in learning more about these roles, please email [email protected]

Summer 2026 Practice Times:

May 26 - June 12, 2025 (Evening Practice)

  • 5:45 - 6:15 PM - 8 & Under (including Minis)
  • 6:15 - 7:00 PM - 9-10 Age Group
  • 6:15 - 7:00 PM - 11-12 Age Group
  • 7:00 - 7:45 PM - 13 and Over

June 16 - July 24, 2025 (Morning Practice)

  • 7:15 - 8:10 AM - 9-10 Age Group
  • 8:10 - 8:50 AM - 8 & Under (Competition Team Only - no Minis)
  • 8:50 - 9:45 AM - 11-12 Age Group and Minis
  • 9:45 - 10:45 AM - 13 & Over


We're looking for a BURRITO maker:

Interested in making breakfast burritos for the Makos home swim meets? This is a volunteer job that can be completed prior to each home meet. Making burritos for one home meet will earn 4 volunteer hours. Interested? Please contact the Makos Concessions Manager, Amanda Zimmerman at [email protected].
